Samsung Electronics announced new mobile processors, Exynos 990 and Exynos Modem 5123.
The Exynos 990 is a processor made with a 7nm manufacturing process using EUV lithography extreme ultraviolet exposure. Three CPU clusters (Tri-Cluster) were formed using two Cortex-A76s and four Cortex-A55s, and Mali-G77 was adopted as the GPU.
Accordingly, it is explained that the overall performance and GPU performance have increased by 20% and the power efficiency has improved by 20%. In addition, it supports 120Hz display drive, six 180 million pixel sensor cameras, and three at the same time.
Exynos Modem 5123 is a modem chip that supports 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G supporting millimeter wave and sub 6GHz. In 5G, it is said to reach 7.35 GHz in millimeter wave and 5.1 GHz in sub 6 GHz. This modem is also made with a 7nm manufacturing process using EUV lithography.
It is not yet clear which handsets will adopt these chips, but they are expected to be adopted in the next Galaxy S series and miniature Fold series to be released next year. The Exynos 990 and Exynos Modem 5123 phases are expected to begin later this year. Related information can be found here .
