沙粒大小?名为吉尼斯世界纪录的图像传感器

The OVM6948, an image sensor developed by CMOS image sensor company OmniVision Technologies, was recognized as the world’s smallest commercial image sensor and was recognized by the Guinness World Records.

Recognized as the smallest image sensor on sale at Guinness World Records, the OVM6948 measures only 0.575 x 0.575mm. Omnivision Technology announced the OVM6948 camera cube chip, a 0.65×0.65×1.158mm camera module based on the OVM6948.

According to market analysts, medical disposable endoscopes are expected to grow at an annual average of 35.9% over the next five years. The FDA of the US Food and Drug Administration is promoting the use of disposable endoscopes because cross-contamination problems may occur due to improper cleaning of the endoscope, and the manufacturer is developing a high-definition, small-diameter disposal endoscope that is cost effective.

According to Omnivision, the existing camera was too large and the reusable endoscope was not cost-effective. Until now, it was nothing but a blind measure with low-quality images by an endoscope for surgery. However, it is explained that a sensor for a disposable medical device, which is compact like the OVM6948, has improved convenience and can shorten the recovery time.

The characteristic of the OVM6948 is that it has excellent image quality and high sensitivity as a chip with back lighting. Lens technology can be used that is superior to competing models in the same class. The angle of view is 120 degrees, the focal length is 3~30mm, the image resolution is 200×200 pixels, and the image is 30 frames. The content of the shot can be transmitted even if it is more than 4m away with noise suppression. It is said that the power consumption is 25mW, which is low heat generation, reducing the patient burden. Related information can be found here .
