British automaker Aston Martin with more than 100 years of history unveiled its first motorcycle during the EICMA 2019 Milan Motorcycle Show.
This motorcycle, the AMB 001, has a DOHC 997cc V twin turbo engine and has both water and air cooling systems. The exterior itself is said to be made of 9-micron stainless steel, the same as the Aston Martin hyper vehicle, the Valkyrie. It has a sleek design, but it has been carefully designed for aerodynamics, and the front cowl aerodynamic blades create downforce. The output is 134kW, so 180 horsepower. In addition, it adopted a sixth gear and a genuine Ducati APTC clutch. In the case of turbo, it is designed to prevent engine damage due to delay, which is a problem in variable geometry turbo vehicles using the latest turbine.
The motorcycle was built in collaboration with British motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior, founded in 1919. In AMB 001, AM stands for Aston Martin, B stands for Braff Superior, and 001 stands for numbering. It seems that you can expect seriesization in the future.
All components of the AMB 001 are made of high-quality materials such as carbon fiber, titanium, and extruded billet aluminum, and are used throughout the chassis and front fork. Thanks to this, it weighs only 180kg.
Only 100 units of this product are manually assembled at a factory in Toulouse, France. The price is 108,000 euros. It is the same price as a luxury vehicle. Buyers are said to receive shipments from the end of 2020. Related information can be found here .
