The Amazon Dash Smart Shelf is a smart shelf that Amazon announced on November 21 (local time). Amazon has stopped selling the Dash button for consumers, but it doesn’t appear to have stopped the Dash hardware itself. This product is available to small businesses, not individuals, in a more automated form than a dash button. The built-in scale detects the weight of the machine and automatically orders replenishment accordingly.
The Dash Smart shelf is available in three sizes: 178×178mm, 305×254mm, and 457×330mm. All are 25.4mm in height. On this shelf, you can stack general consumables used at work. All you have to do is place printer paper, coffee cups, pens, paper clips, toilet paper, coffee, etc.
This way, Amazon’s replenishment system automatically places an order when the supply balance falls below a certain weight. If you don’t want to order automatically, you can also set up notifications to in-house users.
Dash Smart Shelf communicates using built-in Wi-Fi. You can connect a power outlet or use AAA batteries, so you can flexibly place it wherever you want. Simply log in to your Amazon Business account using the web or an Amazon application and select the products you want to stack on your smart shelf. For example, if you want to change the type of coffee you want to order, you can change the brand and product.
Of course, the Dash Smart shelf is not yet available to everyone. Amazon will launch a pilot program in November for small businesses. Next year, it plans to make it available to Amazon business accounts and general customers in the US. Related information can be found here .
