即使您不去罗浮宫,蒙娜丽莎也会遇到虚拟现实

The highlight of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, is also Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece Mona Lisa. However, it is not easy to appreciate it up close because it is smaller than expected and the exhibition room is always crowded.

HTC Vive succeeded in collecting data through various scientific approaches to the Mona Lisa and realistically transforming it into virtual reality. It was presented as an experiential content called Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass for the Da Vinci exhibition commemorating the 500 years after Da Vinci’s death.

Beyond Douglas not only investigated a vast amount of data, but also interpreted the picture in a scientific way using infrared, X-ray, and special reflection methods. In addition, it is said that the background of hidden parts in the painting was reproduced by reflecting accuracy such as interlocking of clothes and light reflection when moving.

Beyond Douglas is free to download without going directly to the Louvre, allowing you to experience Mona Lisa directly at home. Maybe the future museum appreciation is a form of enjoying content while wearing a VR headset instead of putting the actual picture in front. If you add things like VR haptic gloves that give you tactile feedback, you might think of enjoying a different art. Related information can be found here .
