Ford announced that the Mustang Mach-E First Edition reservations were sold out. Mustang Mach-E is known to have only 50,000 units produced in the first year due to battery supply constraints. Of course, production is not completely finished, and Mach-E premium grades will be released in late 2020.
The synergy effect has increased as much as the name of the SUV and Mustang, which is popular in the world, is so high that many people wish to purchase Mach-E. However, it did not record sales that could threaten Tesla, which sold 97,000 electric vehicles in the third quarter of this year. Mach-E is Ford’s first BEV, that is, a battery-powered electric vehicle, and so far there are parts that can apply automobile technology using an internal combustion engine, but there may not be an electric vehicle assembly plant or know-how comparable to Tesla.
Ford is already a giant in internal combustion engines, but it may take more preparation to produce and sell electric vehicles. Related information can be found here .
